Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) — November, 2017

The All-India CPI-IW for November, 2017 increased by 1 point and pegged at 288 (two hundred and eighty eight). On 1-month percentage change, it increased by (+) 0.35 per cent between October, 2017 and November, 2017 when compared with the decrease of (-) 0.36 per cent for the corresponding months of last year.

PSBs Receive Capital Infusion From Government

Several public sector lenders on Saturday said they have received capital infusion from the central government. State-owned Bank of India said it has received a capital infusion worth Rs 2,257 crore.
“The bank has on December 29 received an infusion of Rs 2,257 crore from Government of India in form of common equity tier-1 capital, which is being kept as share application money and would be alloted after due procedure/conditions for allotment,” the bank said in a regulatory filing to the BSE. On October 24, the government had approved a recapitalisation plan for strengthening NPA-hit state-run banks to a tune of Rs 2.11 lakh crore.

DA From January 2018 Will Be 7% For Central Government Employees

After witnessing a static level of Consumer Price Index for the months from July 2017 to September 2017, we have two point increase in CPI (IW) for the month of October 2017.
DA from July 2017 – Govt has recently released All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers) for the month of May 2017 (AICPI – IW)
On the basis of actual Consumer Price Index for 10 Months and projected CPI (IW) for the months of November 2017 and December 2017, we have estimated here the DA from January 2018 applicable to Central Government Employees including Railway Employees and Defence Personnel and all Pensioners.

Unique Identification? 5000 Villagers In MP Have Same Birthday On Aadhaar Card

While there has been a massive outcry about linking pan cards, mobile numbers, bank accounts and what not, in the country, authorities are adamant to commit errors and add to people’s woes.

In a small town in Madhya Pradesh, more than 5,000 people from five villages have the same birth date on their Aadhaar card due to some technical glitch.

Around 80% of the people in Palsoda, Devpura, Fatah Nagar, Jetpuria and Bhopalganj villages in Neemuch, MP – with an approximate population of 7,000 have the same birthday – January 1.

At present, 42 websites are being hosted in Indian Railway Web Portal which is hosted and maintained by Ministry of Railways.
There is a separate website namely www.coms.indianrailways.gov.in which handles the passenger complaint feedback, which provide the facilities to passengers to lodge complaint. The total number of complaints received since its inception are 3,70,974 .

For cleaning, linen and other related requests of passengers in train a site “cleanmycoach.com” is managed by respective Zonal Railways. On receipt of request through website or Short Messaging Service (SMS), a message is sent by the server to the mobile number. The On Board Housing Service (OBHS) assistance is also available to passengers through SMS. OBHS staff contacts the passenger and carries out the work as per demand. Till date nearly 1,49,000 service request has been received through this website as well as SMS.
A Customer Complaint Management Cell has been set up in Railway Board to receive complaints/assistance from passengers/rail users and public at large on Twitter handle of the Ministry, namely, @RailMinIndia, @PiyushGoyal, @PiyushGoyalOffc and Facebook page “Ministry of Railways, Government of India @RailMinIndia”. After analysing such tweets, the actionable once are sent to Zones/Divisions through their respective twitter handles for speedy resolution.
