State Pensioners Association demands implementation of 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU, July 12: All Jammu and Kashmir State Pensioners Association has expressed strong resentment over the State Government’s refusal and postponement of implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
A meeting of the Association was held, here today, under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol, where the State Government’s stand on 7th Pay Commission was condemned. The meet lambasted the Government for hiking the pay and other perks of the legislators and Ministers besides enhancing pension benefits of Ex-MLAs, MLCs and Ministers but denying implementation of Pay Commis-sion recommendations for the employees.
“Medical Assistance of legislators has been enhanced from Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 whereas State has been ignoring State employees and pensions for the last 20 years as they are being paid Rs 300/- month, which is just a mockery with the pensioners and biggest fraud in the name Medical allowance,” the Association said.
The Association demanded immediate implement of 7th Pay Commission recommendations and enhancement of the Medical Allowance to Rs 10,000.
Jagdish Dogra, convener of the State Pensioners Association, demanded FIR against the anti-national elements who provoked Kashmiri youth as a result of which about 3 dozens human lives were lost. “Government must take action against violators of law and restore peace and communal harmony in the Kashmir Valley,” he added.
Others, who also spoke in the meeting, included Yash Paul Sanson, Ram Pal Sharma, Jagdish Sharma, Des Raj Gupta, Bhushan Pargal, Puran Chand Khajuria, S Harbans Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Mohd Ayub Khan, Dr Raj Kumar and K K Sharma.
